SSS’ pension loan releases hit P1B-mark, urges pensioners to avoid fixers

SSS urges members to download SSS Mobile App
14 November 2019

The state-run Social Security System (SSS), amid its shift to online servicing, urged its members to download the SSS Mobile Application at the Google Play Store, Apple App Store, and Huawei App Gallery to have their transactions with the pension fund right at their fingertips.

SSS President and Chief Executive Officer Aurora C. Ignacio said the pension fund, through the free mobile application, aims to improve the ease of doing business with SSS and reduce long queues in its branches.

?With the SSS Mobile App, members can easily transact with the SSS anytime and anywhere through their smartphones or tablets instead of visiting the nearest SSS branch,? Ignacio said.

Through the mobile application, members can view their contributions record, membership information, location of SSS branches, and status of their benefit claim, salary loan and loan balance. Members can also update contact information, register at My.SSS, submit their salary loan application and maternity notification and generate and edit the Payment Reference Numbers.

As of end-October 2019, the SSS Mobile App has recorded over 2.38 million downloads in the Google Play Store landing it on the third spot in the Free Productivity Category. In the Apple App Store, it has more than 261,000 downloads which put it at the third spot in the Free Utilities Category.

Likewise, with just more than a month since it was launched in the Huawei App Gallery last October 7, SSS Mobile App already has more than 18,000 downloads and landed as the top 2 free application under the finance category.

The SSS Mobile App runs on Android 4.4 KitKat and iOS 8.0 or higher.

Aside from the mobile app, the SSS provides its members with other online service facilities such as My.SSS portal on its website (www.sss.gov.ph), SSS Self-Service Express Terminal (SET), Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS), Text-SSS, and contribution payments through electronic channels.

Data shows that as of end-September 2019, nearly 6.02 million individual members and more than 504,000 employers are registered in the SSS website. Through My.SSS portal, members can view their records, make online transactions, set appointments with their SSS servicing branch, and request copies of their records.

?We are encouraging our members and stakeholders to use SSS online platforms as we transform our services into future-ready operations,? Ignacio said.
